Juvéderm Volbella XC is the thinnest of the hyaluronic acids and therefore the most ideal for filling the hollow under the eyes. It also provides an instant “lift” to the area. The volume increase reflects light and removes the shadowing. Injecting the under-eye hollows is surprisingly minimally painful but we do apply a topical numbing cream for anyone who wants it.

This treatment is not ideal for all patients. For anyone who has bulging fat pads under the eyes, the placement of filler there can actually worsen the appearance and cause the fat pads to bulge out more. A thorough evaluation is critical. We have found that more than 50% of patients are not good candidates for under-eye filler and would benefit more from a TetraPRO CO2 treatment or a surgical referral.

If volume loss is not the issue but skin texture and laxity is, then Tetra PRO is the ideal treatment option. CO2 lasers are by far the gold standard for resurfacing skin to treat fine lines, skin texture & tone, wrinkles, and loose skin.
